Some high school athletes strive to earn spots on all-star teams. This recognition became routine for Dorchester Academy’s Stokes Brownlee by his senior year. Excelling in baseball, basketball, and football, Brownlee earned North/South All-Star selections in all three sports.

Former Dorchester football coach Chris Meyers acknowledged Brownlee’s athletic talent, noting his ability to excel in each sport. Meyers expressed gratitude for Brownlee’s help adjusting to his first year as the coach.

As one of five seniors on the football team, Brownlee’s leadership stood out. His teammates voted him captain, and he embraced Coach Meyers' philosophy of setting an example for others. Brownlee made significant contributions on offense and defense, leading in multiple statistical categories. His success carried over to the basketball court, where he averaged a double-double with 18.2 points and 10 rebounds per game in his final season.

Though Brownlee also played golf, he couldn’t join Dorchester Academy’s golf team due to his baseball commitments. Coach Meyers believed his involvement in golf further showcased his athletic versatility.
